ASTenders

When light weight meets luxury!

The rigid carbon construction is lighter than any RIB on the market. The construction will neither deflate or age in the sun. Its gelcoat is as easy to care of as on any GRP boat. The high-quality commodities used ensure longevity with a minimum of maintenance.

The stiff hull with its optimized shape needs 35% less power than a RIB and though creates less emissions. Also it can be perfectly propelled with an electric drive.

Meet the ASTender range, built in carbon fibre, because performance matters and the future is lightweight. ASTenders are high-performance boats, built on the highest standards in composite production: They are robust, durable and highly efficient.

The extra buoyancy, of the foam sandwich and the waterproof compartments, makes the ASTenders unsinkable. The absence of inflated tubes makes the ASTenders the most spacious tenders you will have used.

The wide hull shape provides enormous stability and allows easy boarding. The high freeboard with the deep V-keel offers dry and comfortable rides, making it the perfect companion for all your endeavours.

Frequently Asked Questions

We are constantly improving our products based on feedback from our customers worldwide.

New gelcoat: With the new high grade marine gelcoat we use, we managed to lower the maintenance level for the tender. Also we now offer custom gelcoat colours (except for metallics) for the semi custom carbon range.

Extra thick rubber rail: 24mm instead of 8mm.

Handles: The braided handles are made of highly UV resistant rope and replace the neoprene handles we used to mount.

Water-proof compartments: Double bottom, bow locker and the closed transoms to avoid collecting water. This leads to the highest certification among all carbon tenders producers, which is category C.

Improved structure: The structural layup got optimized incl. strong bulkheads.

Beach wheels: The new type of puncture-proof beach wheels.

Due to the maximized waterline width ASTenders are more stable than inflatables or other rigid tenders.

We offer engines of the brands Mercury, Torqeedo and Mitek. If you order an engine from us, the engine will get inspected, installed to the boat and will be ready to go. You only need to top up fuel or charge the batteries. We can provide the perfect engine for your intended use.

ASTenders have up to 4 water proof compartments. Even if the largest compartment and the tender are swamped, the tender stays afloat with you inside. If all compartments and the tender are swamped the tender and engine stay afloat due to the solid floatation in the structure.

The extra buoyancy, of the foam sandwich and the waterproof compartments, makes the ASTenders unsinkable.

Due to the deep V-keel the ASTender rides very smooth in choppy seas and the high freeboard keeps you dry.

For light tiller steering boats we offer puncture-proof beach wheels to help you pull your ASTender up on the beach.

For the slightly heavier console steering boats we recommend to drag them up on soft sand without wheels. The beach wheels would dig into the soft sand and make it more difficult to beach the tender. But the wheels still work great on hard surfaces, like concrete or hard sand.

In any case we recommend the additional handles and the KeelGuard to beach your ASTender and protect it from scratches.

In general we don’t recommend to drive the tender on the beach with high speeds. Best is, to pull it gently up the beach. Larger stones can create a point load, which results in dents in the foam sandwich. To minimize these dents you can choose to reinforce the outer hull layer with 100% more fibres as an option.

On console steering boats the fuel tank is placed inside the seat.

On tiller steering boats we prefer to store the fuel tank right at the transom. This makes it easier to beach the tender, because you carry most of the weight on the beach wheels.

That depends.

  1. If you take delivery of your ASTender in the EU, you have to pay local VAT (France 20%, Spain 21%, Greece 24%, Croatia 25%, Germany 19%)
  2. If you take delivery of your ASTender in the EU and export the tender together with your mothership, we can match export documents. Until we receive the official export documents (proof of exit), we will keep the VAT as deposit. Once we received the customs documents we reimburse the VAT within a few business days.
  3. If you take delivery of your ASTender in the EU and purchased through a company, which is registered in the EU and holds a valid tax ID for intra-EU supply of goods, we don’t apply VAT.
  4. If you take delivery of the tender outside the EU, we don’t apply VAT either. But you need to check on local import duty and tax as we usually ship CIF or DAP.

The ECO range is built of glass fibre and polyester with a strong core material. It comes with the same high build quality and finish like all ASTender models. In comparison to the semi custom carbon tenders, we do not offer any customization, but a few accessoires.

For European freight we prefer to ship the tender as a single load on direct route. For international freight we either ship full container load or in a crate. Please get in touch, we are happy to offer you the most cost-effective solution.

We understand the idea of having a sailing tender is quite tempting but the tender is not made for sailing even though it would be easy for us as we also produce single-handed sailing boats. For us a sailing tender would be a compromise in performance and that’s one of the reasons we are not looking into developing one at the moment.

For platform storage we offer custom chocks. It is very important that the tender rests on large chocks to avoid point loads and damage to the foam core. Also these chocks need to
be at the correct position (please see drawing). The chocks can get removed by a twist lock to have a flush platform with just a stainless steel cup remaining installed to the platform.

For electric drives we prefer to place the charger inside the seat next to the batteries. This enables you to charge the tender either from the mothership or at a marina. The 10m extension cord is plugged into the socket at the seat and can be run to any CEE plug ashore.

We offer powerful electric drives for all models. But powerful electric drives require large external batteries. We prefer to store these batteries in a protected seat box together with the charger. We therefore use the seat box of the 340 Side Console. You can choose where we shall install this box and in which direction. The pictures below illustrate two possible options for the seat box for battery storage.
